New Director of the Disability
Services Center
Dr. Jan Serrantino
Dr. Serrantino brings to the position a broad knowledge base
of
disability education, accommodations and services.
She served as
an Educational Consultant with RSM Education Consulting
and Advocacy where she provides consultation and
advocacy for individuals with disabilities in
public and private educational institutions. She
has years of administrative and supervisory experience
in meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
She has in depth knowledge of Sections 503 and
504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973) and the American's
With Disabilities Act of 1990.
Dr. Serrantino earned her Ed.D in Education Policy
and Administration at the University of Southern
California. She holds a Master of Arts Degree
in Education Policy and Administration as well.
Dr. Serrantino's prior experience includes serving
as a public school teacher, as a District Program
Administrator, as a Community College Manager
and as an Instructor in the Teacher Education
program in the UCI Department of Education. There
is no question that Dr. Serrantino is committed
to the development of campus and community relationships
and partnerships to enhance the educational and
social outcomes of students with disabilities.
